Our Beliefs

At Appalachian Church Northwest, our beliefs shape everything we do. We are dedicated to Learning from God, Loving our community through God, and Living faith in God.

Exalting Jesus

We place Jesus at the center of all we do, recognizing Him as the Son of God who demonstrates God’s love, forgives our sins, and offers hope and new life. Our worship, teachings, and actions are all aimed at honoring and glorifying Him.

Prayer Before Action

We believe in the power of prayer and seek God's guidance before making decisions or taking action. By prioritizing prayer, we invite God to lead us, provide wisdom, and align our efforts with His will.

Authentic Community

We are committed to building a genuine and supportive community where people can connect, grow, and serve together. We value relationships built on trust, love, and mutual respect, where everyone feels welcomed and accepted.

Engaging Everyone

We strive to involve everyone in our church family, regardless of their background or experience. We believe that each person has unique gifts and talents to contribute, and we create opportunities for everyone to participate and make a difference.

Kingdom Focused

We are committed to advancing God’s kingdom in our community and beyond. We seek to live out our faith in practical ways, addressing the needs of others and working towards justice, reconciliation, and transformation in Ashe County and around the world.

Word Driven

We believe in the authority and relevance of the Bible. We are committed to studying, applying, and sharing God’s Word as the foundation for our lives and ministry. The Bible helps us know Him and how to live.

What We Believe

At Appalachian Church Northwest, we believe:

God is real and good. He created us, loves us, and wants a relationship with us.

Jesus is the center. He is God’s only begotten Son who came to show us God’s love, forgive our wrongs, and give us hope and new life.

The Bible matters. It’s God’s Word that helps us know Him and how to live.

Faith changes life. Following Jesus isn’t about rules—it’s about knowing Him, being changed by Him, and sharing His love with others.

Community is important. We’re not meant to do life alone. Church is a family where we grow, help each other, and serve our community.
